My girl friend bought a game today which came with a DVD installer disk. Now her PC (win2k) doesnt have a DVD rom, however my mac does. Is there a way to mount the dvd rom via our network in order to install the game? I think I was able to mount a cd via a network, but that was is the OS 9 days and was from mac to mac.

Any help would be appriciated
Thanks

Jesse

Well, enabling SMB (Windows Sharing) in the System Prefs / Sharing (don't forget to enable one account for use with SMB sharing - the Mac will prompt it for you though), does let your Home-dir to be accessed by the remote WinPC.

- One way is to copy the contents of the DVD to a folder inside the home directory.
- Maybe you could create an image of the DVD and use Daemon Tools on Windows to mount it.
- Or with Sharepoints you probably can make the mounted DVD a sharepoint for SMB too (haven't tried it). If this works, this will be easiest.
Both tools are Freeware. :)

Good luck.
