Hi guys,

I dunno if anyone can help me with this but I've searched over the net and I haven't had any luck. :(

I'm trying to connect my Ibook g4 OS X to my Windows XP machine. So I can transfer files off it and what not.

The 2 are connected to a router. The Desktop is connected through an ethernet cable to the router and the ibook is connected wirelessly. I've tried pinging both their ip's and they both work. But when I try and go to the connect to server and I put the desktop's IP in the box just says connecting and it doesn't do anything. :(

I tried to connect the desktop to the pc, i open explorer put in the IP of the Ibook and nothing happens, it just says it cannot connect.

I'm not sure what's going on here because I'm not that good with networking and I'm quite a newbie with macs. But I wondered if someone might be able to help? I would REALLY appreciate any help anyone can give me with this. It would be really nice to have them both setup.

Thank you!

I had an express with an ethernet cable going to our pc.

I turned file sharing on on the mac.

The pc's shared folder seemed to appear on the mac.
