I want to connect my iMac via 10GbE to my NAS.
Tricky point, either NAS as iMAc have regular Ethernet Connection to Internet via a 1GbE Switch - so its a Star form net.
Internet - Switch - iMac
!----- NAS
All devices have a fixed IP too in 192.168.254.xxx
Now I connected the QNAP T3-10GbE Adapter and gave him IP 192.168.10.10 and the 10GbE Port in my NAS got IP 192.168.10.11 - that way its a different subnet and shouldwork - I thought
But when I directly connect the two 10GbE Ports nothing happens - data transfer isnt possible.
What is my error in thinking here?
