What a day... Wake to up hear the UK iPad app store is live...and to top it all

photo.jpg

In UK, Purchased on eBay yesterday, delivered this morning, 16GB Wifi model.

Didn't pay too much over the RRP either...Awesome :)

Just wish I wasn't working 140 miles away and have a 3 hour drive home until I can play!

On seeing that pic though am filled with a mixture of anxiousness and pride :)

I saw the topic and thought to myself

"here's someone who's not a father, who's bought an iPad, I must set his priorities straight"

but what a great pic, congrats to both the iPad and for being a dad =)

Trust me between the 2 she comes first!

Wife sent me this and I knew the title would catch people attention he he.

I'll get home just before her bedtime, so after a story and she's tucked up I get to try it out. Working from home tomorrow as well....so at least I can test it out a bit.

If I had taken this photo there'd be a nappy next to her and chocolate spread on the box front - that would have had me running for the door! :)

She can already flick through pictures on our iPhones so the iPad should be second nature to her to use.

Any good apps for young (she's 19months) kids?

looks like new carpet and a wahing machine should have been purchased first...just sayin'. :D

That's just ignorant. The carpet looks like new sculptured carpet. Children learning to feed themselves are messy and they eat frequently. It's not like they are in public. What are you advocating, washing clothes every time they eat? It is just foolish to think children are pristine clean all the time.

Kid Friendly Apps

Kid friendly apps:
My 4 year old loves the following; some games he started playing at 3:

- Monkey Preschool Lunchbox (universal app)
- Angry Birds HD (ipad)
- Harbor Master (iPad, a little hard for him but still fun to drag boats around)
- Flick Fishing (iphone/ipod app)
- Traffic Rush (iphone.ipod app)
- whenIgrowUp (same people who do Monkey Preschool, iphone/ipod app)
- Crazy Snowboard (a free one by ezone.com, not HD)
- iChalky (jumping stickman, not a game)

Off topic: I guess the carpet pattern is called "brains!" and it looks cool.

My 2yr old is obsessed with the Monkey Preschool one! He is always saying, "play monkey game! play monkey game!" My 4yr old's favorite is Tozzle (puzzles) and then some tank one my husband has on his iPhone that I refuse to put on mine because my son would be asking for it all the time lol.

And perhaps your money would be better spent on learning some manners and or common sense.

With your kids do what you want - Personally as someone said (thank you) kids are messy - it doesn't kill them she'd only just got up and had her breakfast!

I'll stop now because at least everyone else in the thread seems to get it, and have had some good app suggestions.

i think he was just trying to make a joke. no harm intended.

anyway, great picture, . i wish you could send pictures of her unpacking the iPad. she can then keep the box. :)

I have gotten a insurance for my iPad that covers spill and accidental damage so that I can give it to my nephews without getting a heart attack 5 times per hour.

Which insurance did you get? My homeowners covers accidents to computers, need to see if they consider the iPad on that or not!
