Never mind

(This post was about 1866 MHz 32GB RDIMMs, but user Another1 pointed out that regardless of speed, the quad ranked RDIMMs will operate at reduced speed due to limitations of the Xeon CPUs.)

Has anyone noticed these before? Apparently they are available. SK Hynix lists them as Mass Production.

These are the 32 GB version of the later 16 GB RDIMMs Apple supplied (B-die): HMT84GR7BMR4C-RD
Also available as newer D-die: HMT84GR7DMR4C-RD
(There's also the earlier A-die, but it appears to be EOL'd: HMT84GR7AMR4C-RD)

They just don't seem to be widely available. I found one online store that lists them. It says price on request.

Interesting but I have always thought the Mac Pro 2013 was limited by the chipset in regards to ram?

"... OWC's will run at 1066 MHz due to limitations in Intel's chipset for addressing the higher capacity of RAM."

It does not matter how fast the modules are, the Xeon determines the speed. E5-16XX (4/6/8-Core) can use max. 1066MHz, E5-26XX (12-Core) only max. 800MHz.
