Hi all,

My new app has just been released, it is called :

Never miss : birthdays, anniversaries and dates (with push)

Link to the AppStore

With this app, never miss a birthday, anniversary or date again! You will be alerted even if the app is closed or in background, and you don't need to be online!

You must have the iOS 4 (or higher) to be able to receive alerts!

Specify the time of day to receive alerts and that's it! The app automatically synchronizes with your address book.

You can also add and/or edit birthdays with this app, very easily and quickly!

Where are the push settings for this?

For instance to set it to local push only? When I first loaded the app it didn't ask me if I wanted to enable push.

App work great btw just curious how it works.

yes, push is enabled by default. To disable it, you simply must tap on the "Notifications" button and set the setting to off.

Where could I find the promo code? I'm new here.

I don't get it.. what do you mean by : "doesn't have an entry in the notifications section"

what do you want to do? with the settings you can enable/disable push (alerts) and/or specify the time of day to receive alerts

Normally an app that wants to use push asks you the first time you use it if you want to use push (allow push OK or Cancel)

Then in the settings app under notifications it is listed and what type of push is enabled.

No such option exists with this app.

Also there is no option to specify local push or online push, so I assume this app only uses local push, yes?

@Gilly Gil : I have just been given 2 new promo codes

@lionheartednyhc : does your calendar warn you for birthdays, anniversaries and dates from the address book? I don't think so but maybe I'm wrong.

@itsmemuffins : you're right. I asked myself the same question. Maybe it is only the case for online push, I guess so. Yes, my app only uses local push!

I recently purchased Iphone 4 and did not start using it when I discovered that it was still missing an integrated task/birthday mgt function.

A number of apps seem to compensate for this weakness (ToDo, dont forget the milk, Toodledo) but as Apple apparently does not open its OS/calendar, all these require linking with an external server to activate reminders. This is not a major problem when at home, but data connection when abroad is rather expensive !

I am quite interested in Nevr Miss provided that it can use the native Iphone calendar without requiring any external server connection. In which case this is a fully new feature with OS4 ? Can you confirm this and will the app send me reminders when I am abroad and the data connection from my Iphone 4 is desactivated ?

Lastly can the app be used for taks mgt (i.e. without reference to some birthday date extracted from the contact list) ?

Thanks a lot
Pierre (really interested !):)

I confirm this! OS 4 allows to send reminders when data connection is desactivated!

any kind of data from the address book

If you add a birthday to a contact it does show in the calendar and you can set it to warn and repeat yearly. So yes calendar does do this!

my calendar does not lol. I must add an event to be able to set it to warn. That's not what I want. I want to be warned without having to do anything. In my case, you launch my app and that's it. But I'd like to know how you do with the calendar for existing birthdays because I can't edit them!
