New 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2021 or a 2020 on sale?

I opted for a 2020 Wi-Fi with 256gb and will sell my 2018 with 64gb.

My 2018 has now been in daily use for 2.5 years and by my decision to sell it for a 2020 I would have new warranty, new battery, 2gb more RAM, 256gb storage and Wi-Fi 6. This would cost me about $300.

The apps I mostly use are Adobe Fresco, Affinity Designer and Photo, Vectornator, Artstudio Pro, Adobe Lightroom.

From the extra speed of the M1 and the better Mini-LED screen, I wouldn't draw that much benefit in my day to day use to justify the extra cost.

What's your choice?

If the savings aren’t that good on the 2020 models, I’d pull the trigger on the 2021 model.

In Europe, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2021 Wi-Fi 256gb is priced at €1309 compared to €899 for a 2020 on sale. Price difference of the 2020 is converted $500 vs. $300 in the U.S.

Wouldn’t be buying a tablet with 3 year old tech just to save a few quid. Either stay on your 2018 which is more than adequate or jump to the newer 2021.

I got the IPad Pro 12.9 2020 128GB from Costco 2 weeks ago for $730 and canceled my IPad Pro 2021 12.9 pre order right after.

ill Take the savings. Only thing I’ll be missing is the new display, but I’ll take those savings for the new designed MacBook instead

Costco sale for iPad was $799 plus $100 off promo from Costco they were giving out and lastly 5% cash back from discover.

Chipset on the 2020 model is essentially the same as from 2018. If the discount is very good though, could be a good choice.
