Much has been said since rumors started pouring in about the possible, and likely, release of the 12" powerbook at Macworld in '08. A lot of the comments posted have focused on size, screen ports etc., but does anyone have any idea what might be done concerning battery power?

I'm running a 12" powerbook and I get 1.5 hrs max, even with extended battery settings, running word.

Any thoughts?

When I had a 12" Powerbook I averaged 4-5 hours.

My battery is only a year and a half old. Perhaps it's just a 'bad' battery.

Yeah your 12'' PB battery is definitely dead. Download coconut battery and check it.

As for the ultraportable MBP, it depends on a lot of things.

If they use a LV C2D, X3100 graphics, SSD drive probably 6 solid hours.

yeh either use coconut battery or iStatPro to check the health of your battery,

mines at 40% after 213 cycles, mainly because someone switched my charger for a powerbook G4 17" model and it took me a few days to realise!

Irratating!
