Hello all,

I am new to my (well, Apple Store refurb) 2010 13" MBA with 4GB RAM/128GB SSD. I love the computer so far, but I've noticed a very troublesome issue that happens repeatedly.

Essentially, any large file operation (meaning file download >20MB, file copy across the network, etc) will hang the system at the end of the operation. This means the copy file progress window (or download window, etc) will show that the operation is 100% complete, but will continue to say "5 seconds remaining," and then will never actually complete. From here, it's only a matter of time before I get a spinning beach ball and a complete system hang. I have run the Disk Utility and verified the disk along with repairing permissions, and I have booted into safe mode which improved but did not correct things. Sounds like a SSD issue to me -- am I correct?

May be a problem with the drive, cable, or just OS installation. I would reinstall OS X and see if that fixes it. If not, ship it back for a new one.
