I was unlucky last Friday that the iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB was sold out when I went to order. I was lucky enough to find one of the very few Best Buys that had one in stock today for pickup. I upgraded from the iPhone Pro Max 1TB.

I just completed setting everything up.

First of all, the phone number transferred much easier than I anticipated with the ESIM. That was one area I thought I would have an issue. Part 1= PASS

The second part is where I've always run into issues. I use my MacBook Pro to transfer and synch data. Previous upgrades, I've run into issues and usually have to wipe and retry. This was the first time since I could remember that it transferred with no problems.
Part 2= PASS

The 3rd part is when I synch all my music, movies, ebooks, and data. Typically something at some point goes wrong. It doesn't usually require a wipe and retry, but sometimes I have had to try to synch 2-3 times for all data to transfer. This time, everything synched without issue.
Part 3= PASS

The 4th Part was updating the OS to the newest version which fixes initial bugs. I don't usually have issues here, and this one had none either.

Now onto learning more about the AOD and the island.

I wish I could say the same. I'm having issues with Quick Start on my 14 Pro. It takes a while on the "Setting up your Apple ID" step. When I think the process starts, it eventually just fails. My backups are saved in iCloud, so I'll try that as a last resort. The direct transfer usually works the fastest for me.

I also had none of the issues that made me not want to ever upgrade again. eSim transferred in a couple of minutes, transferred old phone to new phone without a glitch, paired existing watch without having to unpair or any gymnastics, and all I had to do was download my videos. Music, photos, and everything else transferred seamlessly. This is a huge relief since I upgraded in a hurry to have the new phone with increased battery before I go to Europe for several weeks.
