Why does the website show Glossy or Normal? I was under the assumption that LED screens would take out this option, or is this still an option even with the LED displays.

If so, what do you recommend?

LEDs are the backlights, not the coating :)

I prefer matte screens, but I recommend going to a store (if possible) to see what you like :)

Yeah I am going to get matte as well... I really like it on my PowerBook and I'm not so sure about the glossy screens I have seen so why change? :)

.02

I had a matte screen on my first MBP. it's very good for reading documents, writing code, doing anything in bright areas etc.

This next one, though, will be a glossy screen. It just looks amazing. I use my Mac for more entertainment purposes (watching dvds, etc) so it fits my style more. Also, since the screens are LED, the lighting should be very even throughout the monitor, which helps to counterract the glare that comes with glossy finishes.

Both screens are excellent. It's up to you which is better. There is no right/wrong answer here.
