The bottom line is; is the 15" 2.8 worth $700 more than the 13"?

I do not play graphics intensive games, the smaller screen doesn't bother me, but what about re-sale and future value.

please share your thoughts on the comparison issue and future value.

Thanks!

Both will lose value over time. Your computer is not an investment. Buy the one you need and enjoy it. Life is too short.

I think the 13'' will hold value better than the 15''. Because the 13'' is cheaper, if both lose 20%, in terms of dollars it is smaller on the 13''.

13'' = pretty good deal for the form factor/weight coupled with the specs it has.

15'' = terribly, horribly overpriced. Mac OS is NOT worth at least 500 extra dollars over comparably priced Windows machines.

Yeah, just get the 2.26 and you will not notice any difference. It will give you the full Mac experience, and I'm assuming this is all you want.

Neither will retain value...go with whatever you want or think will be best for what you are going to do. 15inch is nice because of screen size, but 13inch is cheeper.

Here's the boildown:

15-inch: Great screen size, less portable and heavy, more expensive

13-inch: Screen too small, more portable and light, cheaper.

Up to you which direction you'll go for the compromise.
