I am planning to buy the new 20" iMac. I would be using it primarily for web surfing & some photo & video editing. Would the 2.0GHz suffice or should I cough up the extra $300 for the 2.4GHz?

1. Faster CPU that you can't replace
2. More hard drive space on a drive you can't replace
3. A better video card that you can't replace

Go for extra $$$. 0.4 ghz more, 256 mb HD ati radeon, 320 gb hardisk... You'll see the difference after a time and will say thank uuuu :)

yup in your case, I'd go with the upgrade. I'm going for the low end model in October but I won't be doing any video editing at all.... just using it as an itunes library/web surfing/ skype/ mail...

i'd love an extra £100 to get the upgrade but I'm really tight on cash!

PS anyone know if the HD 2400 has any encoding hardware that might speed up my Handbrake encoding against my 2.0ghz core 2 duo macbook?
