Hi

I have one of the new 20" iMacs and overall I am very happy with it but I have one problem with it. Any video that I play on it looks very poor and grainy. I have tried various DVDs and even HD Trailers off the Apple website but they all look pixelated and grainy. Are there some settings I can change to improve the quality of the video playback? or Does anyone else have a problem like this?

I don't really want to have to return it as I start Uni in 2 weeks and don't want to be without a Computer.

Its the 2.0ghz base model.

Thanks
Craig

Either you lowered your screen resolution in System Preferences to anything other than native (1680 x 1050), which LCDs can't handle without getting pixelated... or you're not used to seeing low resolution DVDs and movies blown up to such high resolutions (which really makes digital video imperfections clear). Also, make sure your video isn't set to like 256 colors in System Preferences.

I doubt anything is actually wrong with your computer.

Remember, DVDs are something like 720 x 480. There are not 1680 x 1050 worth of pixels to display on your screen, so it has to essentially turn every pixel into four pixels to play full screen.
