I just received my new BTO 27" iMac today and within about 5 seconds of setting it on my desk I noticed that it appeared to be tilted to the right. There was nothing under the base and the desk is level. I put a level on the base and the top to confirm that it was tilted. I then looked at the back where the stand enters the slot on the back of the computer and noticed that the gap was not consistent. It appears the problem is that the stand isn't aligned correctly in the case itself. The right side is about 1/8" to 3/16" of an inch lower than the left side.

So, here's my question. I've owned six macs before this one and have never had an issue which required me to return them or have them serviced. Since this is a BTO model I assume I can't take it to an Apple store. Before I call Apple I'd like to know from the experienced forum members what I can expect when I call apple?

Thanks

There was another thread about lack of level bases. That is all I've got. I don't recall this issue from other versions, but it has cropped up with this refresh. But issues will happen when you need to produce a few million complicated desktops in short order without getting your process fully vetted by customers (customers are much better than inspector number 6).
