Hooked up via HDMI to a Dell U2410 Monitor, stock Mini.
Every now and then regardless if I'm in OSX or Win 7 via bootcamp the display throws a blurry line through the screen. The line goes across the whole screen and is maybe a couple inches thick. It happens maybe a couple times a night and it's not a load based issue as it does it just sitting at the desktop in the OS.

Anyone else experience this?

power drain? your monitor may not be getting enough voltage. check a/c, appliances, power strip, etc.

interference? check cables.

Native resolution

What is the native resolution of your monitor and what resolution is set in OSX Settings?
Probably monitor is 1980x1200, but you've selected 1980x1080 (1080p) in OSX Display Settings, so vertical blurring appears.

Dell U2410 monitor, max res is 1900x1200, that is set in OSX as well.

What happens if you connect your Mac to a different monitor?
What happens if you connect a different computer to this monitor?
What happens if you use a different cable to connect the two?

Answering one of these questions will tell you whether it's the Mac, the monitor or the cable.

I have similar but worse issue with my new 2.5 mini with the AMD graphics and my 24" Cinema Display. Constant twitching, tearing and black screens that render the new mini unusable. I've have had to revert back to my 2009 mini which works flawlessly with the 24" Cinema Display. I need to try to hook up my old 20" NEC monitor to see if does it with that too.

I don't know what I'm going to do with it although at this point I would just like to return it stick with my 2009 which I know works. Hopefully I can get at least a partial refund on it.

Sounds worse than what I'm seeing. Mine is definitely not as bad. It's actually been a day or so where I haven't seen it.

If I was you I'd return the Mini for another one to see if you have a defective unit. It's worth at least one swap I think.

may just be defective mini. one of the great things about a mini is that it's easy to take to the apple store to get checked out, compared to lugging around a 20-30LB hunk of metal and glass (imac).
