New 20in iMac running hot

i got a new imac a few weeks ago. it seems like it runs hot to the touch. here are the temp readings i am getting from istat pro

cpu a 115 deg.
gpu 137 deg.
gpu diode 139
gpu heatsink 137
ambient 83
memory control 121
hd bay 1 128
optical drive 113

are these about normal temps that everyone has ?

That's after about 10 mins use so will go higher over time.

Once I get mine and it's up, loaded with all my files and such, it'll be running 24/7/365. I run Folding@Home, a distributed project managed from Stanford University. Folding will seriously put the CPU to task. It's a medical research project. Go to Folding@Home web site to get more information.

It appears some macs are measured in C and some in F. Kind of like comparing Apples to Oranges.

I'm not the only one...

I'm using Popcorn to shrink a DVD but this thing was running hot a long time ago.

I might just have to take my 17" Core Duo back from my mom. I think mine might be in meltdown mode.

While I couldn't find exact tech spec's for this exact chipset on Intel's website, Intel has posted max temps for comparable chips at 100C (212F). While that only really serves as a guide at best, it's still a starting point.

I can find the stats for the chipset, but what about the Hard Drive ??? My is 60C or higher and that can't be good

It looks like the 20inch models find it harder to cool down and heat up a lot faster, have a look at my 24inch imac temps.....

Mine has got up as high as 65ºC; I'm in negotiation with Apple to get mine replaced.

well it's been 2 years and it's still running good. i still never hear the fans kick on when doing intensive things, while on the other hand my macbook pro kicks on when it should.
