My iMac would not sleep . . . not after the amount of time set in prefs and not after choosing sleep. When I chose sleep it just went dark a few seconds and then woke up.

After trying several things, I got it to work by removing Kensington Trackball and using mouse that came with it. But I want to use the trackball! I have the latest driver and software I got off the Kensington site. I there anything I can try to get the trackball to stop onterfering with sleep?? because now I just have leave the mac awake all the time or power it down. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

New iMac 24" won't sleep either

I'm also having the same problem however I am using the wireless Apple Mouse that came with it.

I have a few external drives plugged in and thought this was the issue because each time i'd try to sleep the computer it would wake up straight away and say "Drive Disconnected yudda yudda". I un-plugged all the drives and it's still the same problem.

I'm using an Airport Extreme and have the ethernet plugged in. Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. Energy Saving reset to default. EyeTV but it's not running. And no idea what the problem is.

Cheers
