new 24in Imac goes dark.???

hi, i am a new mac user,,,,LOVE it!! dread going to work and use pc all day.

anyway the only issue i have is every so often i will be working away and my whole screen goes blank for a second,,freezes. I have to tap the mouse to get it to come back,,,any ideas?

I'm not sure I fully understand what you're trying to say ... Do you mean the display / system goes to sleep?

yes it is like going to sleep,,but i am activley using it,,not sure why it would do that.

If your on a MacBook or MacBook Pro check your power settings, I'm not 100% sure but they could need tweeking. The only other thing I can think of for iMac/Mac Pro/Mini is that you can set certain areas of your screen, usually the corners to put your display to sleep. check your expose/spaces settings i think it is (not infront of my mac atm) and check your settings.

well,, i feel like an arse!! put my cursor in the left upper corner and it goes to sleep....cool. wish it did not take me three months to figure that one out!
