Hi,
Anyone tried the demo yet? I'm seriously considering selling my slightly older iMac and gaming PC. I have kids now, so only get to play very rarely and uber high fidelity isn't that important anymore.

Regards...

Tom

I've got the 27" i7 iMac and gave it a whirl inside *Parallels* just to see what would happen. Imagine my complete surprise when it actually came up and ran at native resolution (2560 x 1440). It was unplayable, but still... I dropped the res to 1280x1024 or so and I could actually play. Looked good.

Given that, I expect it will work just fine in Bootcamp. I haven't gotten around to putting Bootcamp on my machine though b/c I dislike partitioning my primary drive.

Ok back on topic.

You have to download demo through STEAM ;):p

Should work very well on your new imac. It's a nice looking game but not one that is pushing the graphical edge too much so you should be able to get high settings.

OK under Windows 7 x64 with 4GB RAM and 9600GT 256MB:

Unplayable on all resolutions except 800x600. At 800x600 it's smooth with everything turned up, but at 1024x768 and above it's unplayable with everything set to low.

But at 800x600.. not even worth it

P.S not sure what card you have, but if 4670, you'll get the same crappy performance as the 9600GT, they're equivalent. Exact same speeds: http://www.guru3d.com/article/ati-radeon-hd-4670-review/9

BUT, since the 4670 is 512MB, you'll be able to get higher resolution than I am. But I can't guess what res.

Really interested in the results if someone with the high end 27" has managed to demo it. I'm seriously considering downsizing from a slightly older 24" iMac + high end gaming PC, and if this runs OK, I should be good with pretty much anything I'm likely to play.

But some people run it really great, say it's easy to run etc, then other people say it runs like crap, low FPS etc. And supposedly the demo is a 9 month old build, which might explain why.

Do you have any links? I can't find a single person running it on a 27" iMac with the 4850 GPU in bootcamp.

Friday afternoon bump. I've got the game now. Just wondering if anyone has tried it on a new iMac yet.

im playing through my unibody MBP 13'' bootcamp win xp 32 bit and it's smooth! It's great, but really short :/

Are you referring to the 9600m GT in a MacBook Pro? It's a much slower GPU than the 9600 GT available for desktops.

As far as I am aware apple use laptop graphics in their imac's, although this may have changed wit the 27inch model.
