I'm sure this question has been asked a lot but all the threads I dug up were for earlier iMacs with the 4800 series cards. I just bought a brand new 27" i7 with the 5750 1GB graphics card. Have buyers been noticing the same screen flicker on these new models? If so, could anyone please point me to a thread related to this specific model? Any known fixes or patches?

I have had the machine for 1 day and thought I just noticed flickering while transferring files from an external hard drive. I'm now playing a movie to see if maybe it's a heat issue. Regardless, I'd love to know if this flickering business was supposedly fixed in the latest iMac models. Thanks!

The flicker issue was resolved on the late '09 iMacs with a firmware update. There's no reason why it should exist on the 2010 27" iMacs.

Ok, sorry to bring this up again but I've been working with my new iMac for a couple weeks now and I KNOW I'm seeing flickering. It's subtle but mostly notice it when I have a large white screen open, for example, Google in a wide/tall browser window. Is no one else seeing any flickering on the latest 27" iMacs?

nope fine my end

Bought an i7 iMac after the latest refresh and it was perfect for the first couple of months. Just last week the screen started to flicker after waking up from sleep and has deteriorated to the point where text is impossible to read.....seems a shame that Apple still has not fixed this problem despite the huge number of complaints with the 2009 model.

Thank god for AppleCare!

I'm really disappointed with seeing this flickering problem. Could anyone please point me to a thread that discusses this for the latest 2010 models? I'm curious if there is a good test to perform that might make the flickering problem stand out more. The problem I have now is most noticeable on white pages but it's not super obvious - more like when a screen has a low refresh rate and you can see the lines.

It's probably not the screen. These screens are perfect.

My 27" i7 iMac just starting flickering the last couple of days. Havent had a chance to troubleshoot, but rebooting didn't fix things. I've had this since the week they came out. I'll post updates...

Thanks, keep us posted. My problem persists as well. Like I said, seems most common at the 4 bar brightness level when large white areas are on the screen. Doesn't happen all the time, seems to happen after I've been working for a while but I have a hard time it's heat related as it's always cool in my office.
