Received my 3G 8Gb silver Nano about an hour ago. This is my first iPod device and I am very impressed. What a great little device all the way down to the typical Apple packaging. Very nice!!

We had a colleague leave last week and as I was in charge of the leaving gift (and using my knowledge gleamed from MR) I waited until the Wednesday announcement and ordered him a 3G black 8GB nano. It arrived yesterday... and man was I tempted to keep it, order a new one and tell him it hadn't arrived yet :D

The seem so much slimmer in Real Life, the screen is great and the new interface is sweet. shame I couldn't check coverflow as he obviously hadn't uploaded any tunes on it yet. I'm so very tempted to get one even though I've got a 1G nano, a 2G shuffle and I actually need a iPod classic to put all my tuneage on, and I'm planning on an iPhone on release.

I really, really don't need one. But man they are tempting little squares of technophile joy

I had given some serious thought to the 80Gb classic, but I will hold out for a 30Gb or higher touch down the road. I only needed a player for my music and podcasts. I am loving the Nano!

Ditto. I figured that the 8GB would be enough for my daily commute and it has. My 30 GB will stay in the car with a wider variety of music, but I won't carry it with me anymore.

The screen is a beauty, and the form factor actually feels better in my hand than the last gen nanos.

Oh man, I've been waiting since Friday to get my hands on one of these... the stores over here just won't recieve them.

Good luck! You will be amazed when you do get your hands on one. I still can't get over the resolution of the screen.

FWIW I think it even sounds significantly better than my 5G. Now I have a better chance of hearing artifacts in 128 kbps AAC, but I don't have the room to increase the bitrate. :p
