I just got this new 3gs yesterday, so it requires the thethered jailbreak. As if that werent annoying enough, after jailbreaking I am noticing that the screen sometimes goes completely 'insensitive' as my girlfriend would call it. Basically, usually within 10 seconds of unlocking, the screen will completely ignore any hand motions. Usually a lock/unlock fixes it, but boy is it annoying none-the-less.

Restore it to official Apple IPSW and check it. If it persists, it will need replaced.

it will restore.....

See if the screen issue occurs while non-jailbroken.

If it doesn't try jailbreaking again.

Jailbreaking is a loteasier but still not for the light hearted

No, I mean; what if it doesnt occur any more? Then it is obviously an issue with the jailbreak and new 3gs? The possibility of it just being an issue with MY 3gs if it works un-jailbroken (jailed?) I would think is slim to none...

It's called troubleshooting. Welcome to jailbreaking !

been in IT for years, by no means new to troubleshooting. But my main question was, has anything like this been reported before? Which you answered with a no, but im waiting for other responses.

poking around there have been reports of te screen becoming unresponsive due to a hardware issue.

Try restoring and lets see what happens.

I remember unlocking my first girlfriend. She became "unresponsive" too. Shame she didn't come with a restore.
