So one of the selling points for the new 3gs was the ability to track it if it ever gets missing. Now that I have the 3gs, can anyone elaborate on how it works? do I have to pay for the service? and where should I look for more info on this matter?

thanks

it ONLY works with a MobileMe account, which is discounted at $69 when you buy the service, or $99 if you buy it after. this also includes the ability to remote swipe.

when i was in the store, a girl was complaining about how it does not work. understand this will not tell you its located in your couch, but rather at a pinned location on maps, similar to an address. IMO, only good for if someone stole your phone and you can find kinda where they live, or if it was in your car and someone stole that.

personally, Im not a fan of mobileme at all. I had the service before and i was overseas for about 3 weeks last year. the credit card I had on file with them expired and when i got back, i lost ALL my contacts and calendar info... GONE! i called Apple support and there was no way to pull it back up.
