I just picked up a shiny new 5k iMac Sunday replacing a 2007 iMac and have a (potentially dumb) question for you all. Initially I migrated everything from the old iMac to the new one, but after thinking about it awhile, I realized I didn't want to bring over a bunch of junk built up over the last 8 years and instead do a clean install and hand pick things to bring over (i.e. iTunes, pictures, documents). So, I erased the hard drive and did an install of OS X Yosemite and then downloaded El Capitan and installed that.

Now without going through the process of creating a bootable USB with El Capitan, is this the "cleanest" method for me to install the new beta? Wasn't sure if "command+r"ing and erasing/reinstalling would work seeing as how it's a beta and all. Thanks for any info or help you can provide!

and what is ur question?

If the way I installed EC was the closest I could get to a clean install without creating a bootable USB drive or if I can "command+r" during restart, erase drive and reinstall the beta as you would a non-beta OS.
