I recently posted a WTB in the marketplace, but figured the knowledgable folks here might be able to help me make a wise purchase.

I have the machine in my sig. My new 24" display will run with it...but let's just say it doesn't "prefer" to. I realize this is all the 5200 Ultra's fault. Now, which card should I be looking at to make sure I get great video experience on my new monitor with my beloved G5. I'd like to spend under $100, and would prefer Dual DVI ports, or a DVI-AGP combo rather than DVI-ADC which I currently have.

Any help would be appreciated. I've been offered a 64MB 9600 for $95. This price sems a bit high compared to some I've seen on eBay, but is it really even a much better card?

Thanks.

It really depends on what you use the computer for, if you just do work, watch videos, etc get the 9600 XT, but if you want to play games at their native resolution you need to get a 9800 XT or above, and I wouldn't even recommend a 9800 XT for games at 1920x1200 you really want to spend a bit of money and get a nVIDIA 6800 GT / Ultra or an ATI X800 XT.

I should have made it clear in my first post. I won't be playing any games. I just want to be able to watch DVD's with good clarity, and get rid of the red "snow" that's been appearing.

Get a 9600 XT then, you'll be more than happy.

You want to trade your 24 inch dell for my X800XT plus like 200 dollars? :D
