Open my new AirPods Pro the other day and noticed that several times I placed them in and out of the case the AirPods are not charged evenly.

One shows 100% when I take it out of the case other side was 85 to 89% right When take it out. Even after being in the case for a while it never goes over 89 or so.

I know it’s going to be a bear to try to exchange them somewhere but should I consider this a problem?

Try do a reset of the AirPods. If this does not solve the problem I would take them in for an exchange.
They might just change the one which have a problem.

If you know someone who have a set to, try charging in that case. if still at 89% it is the pod and not the case.

I lucked up yesterday and found a store with some in stock went in and exchanged them while picking up my Powerbeats pro that were being serviced it’ll be interesting to see if these are better than the first pair or not. They told me they didn’t have replacement stock yet so I had to swap the entire unit

I have a similar issue with mine, it is not that they don't evenly charge, it's that frequently one straight up won't even charge, so I'll put them both in ~40% battery, then go back to use them and have one at < 40%, one at 100% and the battery case still has ample charge to continue charging.

Hoping it is a firmware issue and hoping they resolve it before it ruins the battery longevity of my AirPod Pros frequently, needlessly, getting run down so low because one doesn't charge.

Update: I am currently working with Apple after sending an Email to Tim Cook about this, he and I have corresponded over the years and he’s forwarded my email over. Apple has downloaded a Bluetooth monitoring profile onto my iPhone to see why the pods are draining insufficiently. I will report back with any new findings

I had that problem earlier but it turned out to be a problem with the silicone insert not installed properly. When I mounted The silicone, it didn’t sit right and one side wouldn’t charge steadily, or at all. After I removed/remounted the silicone it charged normally again.
