new apple keyboard - cannot control volume.

Hi all,

i just purchased the new apple keyboard and cannot control the volume with the volume keys. The keyboard preferences make no mention of how to get the volume keys working. I updated the keyboard software and that has made no difference. What am I doing wrong?! This is taking the shine of an otherwise fantastic product

Which Mac are you using? Try pressing fn+the volume key

Thanks for responding. I'm using a G4 imac 20" running 10.3.9. nothing happens if I press the function key. I tried moving the the exposes controls to f13 to free up the volume keys but still no joy. anyone else had this problem and managed to sort it

You need to run the keyboard update.

Unfortunately, you need 10.4.10...

Drat... thanks for the info though. Oh well I'm about to upgrade my mac at long last. Just waiting for macworld to see what comes out... Is there a chance apple will release a new update for those people with older systems?
