That's not a "new logo" that's just supposed to make it look like reflective chrome.

You can see it by going to the Apple Menu and choosing About This Mac.

The "logo" is just the shape. That hasn't changed since the 70s. Apple always freely colored the Apple logo however they wanted. Even during the rainbow years, printed manuals and boxes and stuff often had various solid color versions of the logos, whether they be blue, green, red, black, or gray.

I think it's pretty clear that the OP is not "BS-ing us", but rather confused in thinking that the reflective chrome version of the logo was replacing the ordinary solid-colored :apple: logo.

I can understand the confusion, I guess, considering this version of the logo is present on the "About This Mac" window, Apple's web site as of recently, and apparently their new hardware as well.

yeah, I could see that. but it's been in "about this mac" for a while.

yes i would liek to see a picture of this new logo.. i noticed on the apple website that if you go to the iphone then gallery the apple on the back is half black and half normal... maybe just a shadow?? ? in the 360 view it is just normal

If you can find Leopard screenshots anywhere on the web, the new :apple: in the menubar looks REALLY slick.

I guess ColorSync didn't work as well as it was supposed to! :)
