Sorry if someone already posted this, but I wanted to put my predictions out there. I think the Intel naming conventions will be as follows (including those already released):

-iMac
-MacBook Pro
-Mac mini
-Mac Pro (G5 replacement)
-iBook (only product violating the new "Mac" emphasis)

I have a lot of reasons for this, not the least of which is that it's a fairly obvious and intuitive. Also, as awkward as "MacBook Pro" seems, "iMacBook" is simply intolerable. I think the delineation between consumer and pro products is just as important as emphasizing "Mac."

Your thoughts?

I'll throw in my vote...

Mac Mini
Mac Pro
MacBook
iMac
MacBook Pro

And hopefully, eventually,

MacPod.

I really like that name. Not sure why...

I didn't realize that Apple's entire lineup will soon be Scottish...

the next iMac release will be renamed to just Mac :) This will give you:

Desktops:
Mac Pro (formerly PowerMac G5)
Mac (formerly iMac)
Mac Mini (keeps name)

Portables:
MacBook Pro (formerly PowerBook)
MacBook (formerly iBook)

iMac is the only one different

they should change the name to Mac lol

edit: ok i just looked 2 posts above me and noticed he already said it haha

I think instead of getting Mac in all the names, they should have gone for Macintosh...then they could have had something better than MacBook Pro.

Macintosh ProBook would have been a better name IMO. The PowerMac would become the Macintosh Pro. The iMac would become the Macintosh. The mac mini would become the Macintosh mini. And the iBook....I'm not really sure.
