Has anyone noticed that their new Pencil is working on their new Apple watch?
Furthermore... it seems to work by just hovering above the glass. Even when its not making contact.
Is this a bug? Is this a feature?
Since the pencil isnt working at all on the iPhone i cant figure out why or how it would on the watch.

Anyone has an explanation?

Just tried. It didn't work.

You may have made many people tapping the Apple Pencil on their watch by this post lol.

Make sure your pencil is active by using it on your iPad right before. I'm not joking.

I would be interested in seeing a video
There;

It seems to be periodically sending some signal that is detected by the watch event when +- 3mm away from the surface of the watch.
I was thinking it could trigger the capacitive sensors of the screen but it isnt working on the iPhone so it might be something else.

This is also happening for me. It’s not working very well (can’t really scroll too well) but it is interacting with my watch. New Apple Pencil and series 3 SS watch.

I gave it a try and the new Apple Pencil works on my Apple Watch Series 4. Can’t think why I would want to use the pencil on the watch but the fact that it works appeals to the techno nerd in me.

I was inspired to try the pencil on my iPhone XS but didn’t work.

Works on my S4 watch using my series 1 Apple Pencil. I can actually get more consistent use if I use the pencil tip on it’s side more than the tip.....

The impossible thing happened. It interacted with one of my complications but I cannot get it to work consistently.

Doesn’t the Apple Watch work through Bluetooth though? Not capacitive touch? So in theory it’s intercepting the Bluetooth signals the watch is radiating and actually able to use those signals to communicate input. The scientist in me is a bit impressed
