Covent Garden had no idea

To be honest, the only info from the Apple Shops that is really worth posting here is when someone actually finds them in stock. Anyone who has spend 5 minutes on this or similar forums will know far more than the average Apple Store employee does about when they will be arriving.
I went into the shop in Meadowhall at lunchtime as I was there and asked if they knew when they were in. I was told that it would be 2-3 weeks, as they would expect them to arrive around the same time as online orderers get them. When I mentioned that people had been told by TNT that they would be being delivered on Monday she was surprised and seemed to agree that this means they could turn up any day.
In other words, they haven't got a clue and the only thing we can do is keep calling until they say they actually have them, whilst ignoring what they say if they haven't got them. As soon as someone reports any in stock on here then I imagine the other shops will get them at a similar time.

From other threads it looks like online orders are now in Europe. If Store units are on the same shipment (does anyone know if this is the case usually?) then I would guess that Monday is most likely for arrival in the shops as they probably don't have deliveries on Saturday.
That would be typical if so. I'm busy all day Monday and Tuesday so probably won't be able to get to a shop before Wednesday, especially for a speculative trip. It will be interesting to hear if anyone has any luck in the next few days.

Was in Regent Street store today and sales chap I spoke too said that the last they were told is that they won't be getting them for sale in store for 1-2 weeks... so the same wait as the uk online store.
As much as I'd hope for one of the London stores to buck that suggestion, he seemed fairly solid and sure on the matter.

Welcome Keith. Relax there are hundreds of us UK users ready to pounce once theTV hits retail stores. We will be sure to flood this forum once we get hold of one. I for one may pop to Regent Street 2mrw just in case
Hi, don't worry, I'm pretty relaxed about it, although I'd really love to just get hold of one to check that my video rips are all OK.
The hundreds of people ready to pounce is my real fear, as I'm unlikely to be able to get to an Apple shop now until Wednesday. If, as I suspect, they do show up in the shops in the next day or two, I'm hoping there aren't too many people going to clear the shelves of them.
Having said that, if anyone does happen to find any in Birmingham in the next couple of days it would be really handy if they posted here. If I knew they were there then I may be able to nip in to get one, but won't be able to keep phoning them during the day.
I had it on pre-order from launch day, but had to cancel it. When I ordered again last week and was told I would get it till the end of October to the start of November I canceled it and I will buy from a store instead.

Tomorrow we should find out whether that is the case or whether, as I suspect, staff are just quoting what the website says for delivery of online orders at the moment.
Both people I have spoken to in the shop initially quoted the time that is on the website as they were reading that as when pre-orders will be arriving. Both of them, when I told them that TNT were expected to be delivering tomorrow, said that if that is the case then they would not be surprised if they turn up in store at the same time.
