i Just bought an apple tv yesterday and i noticed that it has alot of buffering time. I was trying to air play a you tube video from my iphone and it took forever for it to load the video. also when i tried playing a movie from my iphone to the tv from Movie land it didnt even come on seemed like id have to leave it for days before it would play. does anyone know any way of cutting down this buffering time?

also its on software 4.1.1 right now and its asking me to update it. should i update it? and if i do will i still be able to jailbreak it??

i also had a question about jail breaking. what options become available to me once the aple tv is jailbroken??

sorry for asking too many question.

thanks a bunch in advance!!

any one kind enough to teach me a few things about this?? =)

what is your internet connection?

wired or wireless

sometimes youtube takes a while & sometimes is fast, its on there end i think

yes its ok to upgrade the firmware, you can jailbreak the new firmware 4.3

with 4.3 you can airplay videos & pics from your camera roll

if you jailbreak you can get xbmc

xbmc lets you stream videos that are not in mp4 or mv4

you can play 720p or 1080p mkv movies on xbmc
as well as avi files

you can stream the movies with the computer off if you have a NAS external hardrive

there also icefilms - if your into watching movies that have leaked to the internet like battle los angeles , or tv shows

i dont even deal with itunes, the only time i open itunes is to upgrade the firmware

so jailbreaking works for me

what if...

Apple tv gets a5 an is designed for apple's cloud....1080p videos could be bought and stored at apple

ah icic

is there a guide on how to jailbreak 4.3 a tv 2 than??

and also how to install xbmc and icefilms?

some of the airplay issues are because you don't have the most recent version. The 4.1.1 doesn't really support airplay. I just got one myself 3 days ago, ran the update and now all is smooth sailing. I love it all!

...and you would have to start buffering it 2 days before you wanted to see it, and your ISP would slap a data limit on you so fast your head would spin.

One 1080p movie is anywhere from 20-40gigs.
