Hey guys on the apple website for the Mountain lion page it has the airplay image and then the picture of this TV

So I know it may sound foolish but could that be the apple TV that people are saying may be coming out soon?

Kieran

No its not the new ATV, it looks like their adding airplay functionality to OSX, i.e you will be able to mirror your mac display via an ATV2 (as pictured) to a TV.

EDIT: The Op is being a bit disingenuous by only posting the image, its fully explained on the link : http://www.apple.com/macosx/mountain-lion/features.html#airplay , as I suspected from the image its airplay functionality in OSX.

Does anyone know if the 720p restriction will affect how AirPlay over Mountain Lion would work? Streaming from my Macbook and Apps (mainly Hulu) are the only things I ever complained about with the AppleTV soI'm excited.

Hulu plus is as good as no Hulu, and that'll likely be the case if Apple does add Hulu.

And you do know that you can stream Hulu through jailbroken ATV2?

NO.

It is simply demonstrating that OS X 10.8 will have Airplay. Notice the current Apple TV in the corner.

I actually pay for Hulu Plus. My brother pays for Netflix in Chicago and I pay for Hulu Plus in LA and we both share the accounts over multiple devices. And with Mountain Lion offering computer streaming then I'll be able to use all the websites for stations that don't participate with Hulu.

So long Cable, Hello $70/mo savings.

There are enough plug-ins on XBMC that provide streaming of most popular website contents that I don't see as reasons to be excited about ATV3.
