New AT&T commercial

Has anyone seen the new AT&T commercial? It shows AT&T total coverage with some dude throwing postcards all over there coverage map. I'll post a link to a video if I can find it but so far it seams like AT&Ts only retaliation. I think this may be a repost but w/e
 
Yeah, it's Luke Wilson throwing the postcards all over the US map. I love how AT&T feels the need to use celebrities in their commercials.
 
Yeah, I think it's not bad but not great. Interesting how hard they've taken verizon's ad campaign (which IMO was only itself decent to begin with).
 
Well it was good AT&T clarified that because all carriers care about these days is bragging about there 3G coverage a term of which most consumers don't truly relise the definition and some just assume it's total coverage.
 
AT&T still doesn't get it. It's their 3G coverage that is lacking. They seem to think the Verizon commercials let everyone believe AT&T didn't have cell coverage over the U.S., funny how I understood exactly what Verizon was saying, that AT&T has poor 3G coverage compared to Verizon. It's just fact.

But I do think Verizon crossed the line when they put the iPhone on misfit island, because now they were also attacking Apple. While AT&T degrades the iPhone, it certainly doesn't mean it is a misfit because it is still a great product without it's cell phone capabilities.

Sure you got it but the general population probably doesnt and that commercial clarified misconceptions I'm sure exsisited.
 
Verizon may be technically considered "3g" but their evdo is slower than AT&Ts hspa or whatever its called. I lived in the NY/NJ area which is really Verizons bread n butter, their corporate headquarters is in Basking Ridge New Jersey, and while my coverage was excellent i was never impressed with their data speeds like I am on AT&T, granted AT&Ts coverage is kind of a joke but Verizon is also only telling you what they want you to hear, they are spinning things just as bad, there is no big bad bully and no victim in this "battle"
 
I think we can all agree that AT&T's 3G coverage is not as widely available as Verizon, but much of that can be blamed on the standard. I believe all Verizon needed to do was a software upgrade, while AT&T had to upgrade every tower to be able to take advantage of the high speed data. In all honesty, AT&T has invested a lot in their network recently, and I now have 3G in all of my places of living, including my island house. If you live in a rural environment, I guess it is still a problem, and perhaps Verizon is better in that regard, but if you live in an urban area with a good number of people, chances are you will be covered.
 
Yeah I've seen a few, my favorite is "you can still surf the web and talk at the same time on Verizon's network, you just need 2 phones"

Apple's iPhone retorts are spaztacularly immature. "Can YOUR phone do that on YOUR network? NO! I didn't think so you gimpy lil wa***r!"

Reminds me of kids picking on eachother in the park.
 
i def dont surf the web while talking on the phone but i have sent a few emails while on the phone, i can see that as a plus for biz customers. If they could just eliminate the dropped calls, I honestly feel like im on the playskool network sometimes when someone is trying to talk to me and i get call failled for 10 minutes and poor quality, makes me wonder where my 100 a month is going.

In theory. Practically speaking, it's often faster and more reliable overall, mostly because Verizon built their network for CDMA from the start. (It is critical for 3G on either Verizon or ATT to have cells laid out and configured for CDMA.)

In places where ATT has reconfigured or added cells, implemented HSPA and added more backhaul, they should be faster. However, since voice and data is shared over their 3G, reliability still suffers.

Wired 15,000 person survey =Verizon faster than ATT

PC World test = Verizon fastest and most reliable

Boy Genius small Survey = ATT faster down, Verizon faster up
