New ATI 1900 providing duller color

I'm not sure what it is but since I've upgraded the card my color is duller than it was with the nVidia. I'm curious as to what can cause this. Perhaps I need a higher quality DVI cable for this card? Do I need to change any settings maybe? Anyone have any advice?

I always crank up the gamma to 2.2. I dont understand why apple favours such a dull default monitor calib.
