Ok, we're switching to ATT this weekend. Getting a Family plan, with a new iPhone 3GS. We have one iPhone 2G, given to us by a friend, which we plan to use as our second phone on this contract.

I was told by two ATT reps that if we wanted to upgrade the unsubsidized iPhone at some point before our 2-yr contract was up, we could do that. But I haven't seen it in writing anywhere. Has anyone done this? Or seen it in writing?

If it cannot be done, we might just get two new iPhones or I may get a Nokia E71 or something that doesn't require the data plan.

-Thanks!

Unless this has changed since February, it's true, you may have to sign a 2 year contract but, yes, you should be able to process an upgrade on the line because you are using existing equipment.
