Ok, before people kill me for having a jailbroken iPhone, I moved up here and AT&T terminated my contract because over 90% of my data, minutes were out of their area. Long story short AT&T does not have service up here so I had to jailbreak my 2G and using it on T-Mobile. I want to get a new battery for it and don't want to do it myself, so if I wipe it will Apple know I had jailbroken it and not change my battery in it or will they know when I have them ship it back to me (because of my address). Thanks

they will not know

They will not know, at least I don't see how....

I had a 3g that I jailbroke but still used with AT&T that had the vibrate button fall off. I restored to the original OS and took it back to the apple store. They replaced it and sent my back. I never heard anything about it.

I also just this past week took my 3GS back to the apple store for battery issues and they replaced it with a new one. I had it jailbroken too, but restored it prior to taking back. So far, so good. I don't see how they would know since it's just software. But who know's for certain.
