Hello,

I have bought and installed a new battery for a mid 2009 15 inch macbook pro. However, the life of the battery has not increased at all! Really strange. Is there something I did wrong or something I can do to make it work properly?

Thanks
Neil

Maybe this is why. Third party battery perhaps and not an Apple certified one ?

You will have to describe what it is doing to make you think it is not working properly.

How could we know?
Hello,

It is lasting about the same amount of time as the old one I took out. ie. About an hour and a half from fully charged.

Is is an Apple battery? Knockoffs are notoriously shoddy.

What are you using your computer for? Battery life varies a whole lot depending on what you do.

Where did you get the battery? Also, when was it manufactured?

Even if it's a genuine battery, it will degrade over time despite not being used.

You still haven't bothered to tell us if its a knockoff battery or an Apple original OEM battery

Indeed, the silence is deafening.. BUT, if it truly is an APPLE (bought from not just looks like one) OEM Battery, perhaps the Charging System is the problem _ if you do not get enough Volts and Amps to make the Watts required to fully charge the battery, so then you might be running out of poop, earlier than expected and desired..

Let us know, and Good Luck on a simple fix!!

I'd look to get support from the vendor where you got the battery from or try to return it. Sounds like you got a bad battery.

I'd recommend spending the extra $$ and get an apple battery.

Yeah, as above, if it is from/through AMAZON, they want Happy Customers more than anything, so I would see if you can do something with the Seller accordingly.. and as always, nice to have updates so that others can decide accordingly where to buy replacements once they need to as well _ Thanks again and Good Luck!!

OWC sells pretty good batteries also.

If you're referring to the NewerTech NuPower battery that OWC sells, I beg to differ...

I've got one on my 2010 MBP 15", after only a year the said battery lasts only 2 hours. Apple battery can last 4 to 5 hours on wifi browsing alone.
