I bought a imac 2 weeks back and now there better imacs for the same price. I feel a bit fooled. I suppose there isn't a possibility to trade my imac with a new one.

I think you are very close to the window during which Apple will allow you to return it - but I'm not 100% positive. I would call a store or Apple directly.

I'd talk to apple about it, that is a possibility. I believe usually they will do a deal like that with in a month of new releases, so you should be able to get it swapped out.

Are you one of those people who "just couldn't wait any longer", and now regret it? I am sure there are many of you.

However, the scores of the new release aren't all that impressive seeing as the MBP is scoring higher in most cases. Obsurd.

It all depends on who you speak to at the apple store. Some reps are very nice and will swap no problem if you're a couple days out of the 14 day window.. and some aren't so understanding and will send you home with your old machine unfortunately. You can call in advance but you may not be dealing with the same rep in store as on the phone.. it's all luck if you're past the 14 days. If you're within 14 days go back now!

day 17

today its been 17 days after I bought my Imac. I went to the apple store and the guy told me that there had been more people coming in and asking the same question, He wrote down my personal information and told me that He will inform me when the store knew what to do with the people who wanted to trade there imacs.

Lets hope for the best :apple:

Thanks Guys.

Kind of funny you mention that.

About three weeks or so ago I went in to look at the new MBP's thinking I was going to buy one. Before I did that I came here to check out any issues. Subsequently I learned of the impending iMac refresh and considering my 24" iMac is almost 4 years old I decided to put off buying a notebook and see what the refresh would bring.

I may end up getting a MBP, but if I don't then I'll just put the money back in the shoebox I keep it in! :)

I heard someone say that the 14 day return extends to 28 days when a new release comes out.. So yes, possibly.

I wouldn't wait though, I'd act on it today and call them up, go in to the Apple Store etc. The sooner the better

out of luck

I am out of luck, they told me that the apple store never knows when a new shipment of new imacs is coming in, so they could not warn me for this. so its just bad luck.
Well never mind, I still have a great iMac :)

Thanks :apple:
