New bottom model 24 inch imac - good enough to play games?

Im trying to decide between buying a mac mini and a new LCD screen, or the bottom model 24 inch imac (which is maybe possibly just in my price range).

So if I did go for the imac, would it be good enough to play the latest games (and are there many games available on mac?). Is the increase in power really worth it - or is much of the money just going on the screen?
