New cd not being seen by iMac G5!

well i just bought a couple of cds....the first one imported and the second one isnt even recognized as a disc.

the cd is:

Artist: Taproot
Album: blue-sky research

i dont see any kind of new copyright or anything...

what is wrong? bad cd?

Have you tried reading other discs after you tried that one? Do they all work fine? If it's not even recognised as a disc and other ones all work, then it's probably just a bad cd.

I had a similar problem with my iBook. It wouldn't read any CDs/DVDs...nothing. A call to AppleCare determined the drive was completely dead. Does your iMac read any CDs, or is it just this one thats causing trouble? If it won't read just this disk, it's probably a faulty CD.


If your iMac won't read anything, you should call AppleCare.
