I just set up my new iPhone 15 as a clean install (rather than restoring from backup). Logged into iCloud and everything has come down with the exception of Messages. Only new messages are syncing between devices.

I logged out of iCloud/Rebooted/logged back into iCloud on my Mac and received the message:

"Messages in iCloud not avilable as iCloud and iMessage accounts do not match" - Which makes no sense as I've only ever had/used a single iCloud account/email.

Going into iCloud storage on my phone indicates that I have 47GB of Messages stored in iCloud, so I'm assuming they're still accessible?

Turning off iCloud/iMessage/Logging out/in/rebooting hasn't solved the issue. Any ideas? Thank you!

It's been over a day and not a single message downloaded - no "syncing" messages or anything. Surely there'd be some sign of life by now?

Have you tried settings/messages and turning off iMessage and turning it back on?.

I was getting the message about accounts not matching and that fixed it for me.
