Just got a notification of these new Comply foam tips for the AirPod Pro. The set includes tools to clean and remove them. I have a set on order from Amazon. I am using the original foam tips on my AirPod Pro’s they are comfortable, hold well, and are very durable.

Increased consistency in overall passive isolation leads to perception that the not-that-good-in-absolutes ANC is not working as well

Shocking

For me, the main thing historically keeping me from using these regularly in public is the fact that you have to compress the tips - i.e. they often have to come into contact with my unwashed fingers. I have considered some sort of printed and coated compressor which can be kept in a case of its own when not in use but so far it's only been that, considered - it would still be hella inconvenient.

I have used expandable foam tips for years with my Etymótic's and Shure IEMs. I moved to the Comply's because the expandable foam tips used by Shure and the Ety's quickly become dirty and hard. I don't compress these Comply tips for the AirPods I just rotate them in. With these new tips, there are instructions for cleaning them with soap and water.

The Shure tips are more sanitary since they are intended to be disposable. I had a giant bag of them when I used to main the SE535/etc.

Same here I have a large jar of the yellow Shure foam tip. They only last week or so. The Shure's were designed for musicians to use on stage. I still prefer the Shure SE's over the AirPods. But the AirPods are better when driving or making phone calls on the iPhone.

I discovered some charging problems with my case from using Complys for a while. Less frequent contact, and some misalignment of charging points.

You use them for A WEEK?

🤮

I hope they got some sort of cleaning inbetween...
This was when I was doing heavy construction work they were used both for hearing protection and for sound isolation. A week was as long as I used a set, if I had to muck 30 yards of concrete, they lasted one day. I also used the Silicone tips on the Ety's, which I kept in a jar of medical-grade Isopropyl alcohol. I wish I could use these on the AirPods they fit deep in your ears and would hold the AirPods securely in place

I have never had a problem with this. They drop right into my charger. is it a size thing? I use the medium size, would the large size be a problem?

I have used the large size for nearly 2 years. Never had a charging problem.
I get perfect ear fit test every time - could never get a single ear fit test to pass with the supplied silicone tips and they were frequently falling out. I have never once had a Comply tip fall out while using. Love them!

how often do you replace the tips? that could be a factor why it works for you and not for others.

The fit test worked with the silicone tips, but for me, at least, they were never secure. When I discovered the Comply, and because of my long history of use with my Shure IEMs, I ordered a set. I have never had a set wear out I swap them out to clean them per Comply's instructions. This upgraded version with the removal and cleaning tools will make a difference. The Comply tips are more expensive than some but they are so much better than most.

They also last for about a month before becoming so misshapen that they barely hold the pods in your ears. Funny how no review ever talks about their insanely high price and the fact you have to renew them every 30 days (depending on activity).

But they included a mini brush because that’s what I’ve really been dying for!

While I like the functionality of the AirPod Pro's, my go-to system is My FiiO BTR17, my Shure SE-536's linked to my Apple Watch, iPad, or iPhone. They sound better, and I have a 12-hour battery.

After reading this thread I decided to give the Comply tips a try. I’ve had APP versions 1 and 2 and they never felt really secure in my ears. I frequently had to reseat them as they’d loosen in my ears as I moved around. No way they’d stay in my ears while exercising or working outside around the yards - got some accessory ear hooks which worked OK for that. Tried all the sizes of the original silicone tips.

Now, 2 days in with them Comply tips I’m amazed. Have used them around the house and outside and light exercising. More comfortable than the original tips and not once have I had to reseat them! They continue to be secure in my ears after 2 hours or more.

Yes, they are disposable (not sure yet how long they’ll last with my wear patterns) which makes for a kind of high recurring expense. I’ll probably live with that for the benefits they provide me.

Matches my experience with the Comply tips and APP 2's.

Did you try the new Comply Tips from the OP? Or the ones currently on the market?
