Here's my thing....

I'll be a new AT&Tingular customer. Part of that perk is getting to have a phone at a discount.

Now...

If I signed up today and took advantage of that discounted price, I would essentially have a phone as a backup, should the iPhone break or something.

Could I go ahead and GET service and then just BUY the iPhone at launch? If it's not discounted, what difference does it make? It just feels like we're being cheated out of the new customer pricing by the iPhone not be discounted. I'm not complaining about the iPhone price, I just want the perk of the discounted pricing...even it it means be paying extra for an additional phone. You never know when you'll need it.

Arc:)

With the launch SO close, I would just wait and see what happens. That is if you can live without a cell for a little while.

A 2 year agreement is required to buy the iPhone. New customer, old customer, upgrade, sidegrade.... etc., etc.

If your iPhone gets broken why wouldn't you get a replacement. I mean, I would not spend 500-600 on a phone and then go "ohm it's broken, oh well", I am 98% sure that there will be some form of Apple care, that will go beyond the replacement plans usually available for phones.
