Hi All - I'm new to this Forum and would appreciate any insights to my problem.

This is a First Gen iPhone on 2.0. I have 5 email accounts configured including a corporate IMAP account, Gmail, AOL and Me.com. They all worked fine on 1.1.4. New emails downloaded every 15 minutes. Now I'm on 2.0. Push is disabled and as before i have Email Settings set to check for new mail every 15 minutes. But no new emails appear - not ever. I CAN get new mail but only by powering off the iPhone and powering back up. After this procedure all new emails are now on view. But no new mail will appear after that unless I again re-power. I have done a full restore and re-synch 3 times tody, no change. Very frustrated!

Thanks - Wolf

same problem here

I've encountered the same problem as you describe, only mine is receiving emails intermittently. I spent time on the phone with Apple and all they could tell me was to restore my iPhone, and that I may need to do that daily. I made an appointment and spent an hour with an Apple 'genius' who told me about the same thing and suggested that I delete all my email accounts and set them up again, which I did. My mail worked again that day, but since then it has been intermittent. I've got an appointment again tomorrow at the Apple Store. They offerred me a replacement phone the first time I was in there but I'm not certain that the problem would be resolved and am afraid that the replacement will be a refurbished unit that could end up being worse than what I've already got. I'll post again tomorrow after going into the store...

Thanks. On my own intiative today I Restored the software to factory settings. I didn't synch with a backup but chose "new iPhone" option sobitbwas like having a new iPhone out of the box with a fresh install of 2.0. I then re-entered all the account settings from scratch for all 5 of my email accounts (fun!). I currently have Push selected for new email retrieval. New emails are now arriving into each account as per normal. This suggests something had gotten corrupted in the earlier configuration. I will continue to test the new setup and will also see how it goes when I set it up to receive emails with Fetch every 15 minutes (I find that Push really chews thru my battery charge otherwise I'd continue to use it). I look forward to hearing how your new Genius session goes. I have one scheduled tomorrow too since I have other issues & will post here with results of that experience.
