Got the new Evernote update that's out today, the one with the offline note storage and all that.

It seems to be really flaky when connecting through the cell network and says it can't communicate with the servers. Data is fine on all my other apps and I haven't got the wi-fi only option switched on either. Works fine through wi-fi.

Anyone else having this problem?

sounds like a brilliant update, as long as it works! Will make note searching considerably faster. I'll download today and give my opinion. U did have trouble with wvwrnote a while ago over 3G, so I just deleted and reinstalled which solved the problem

To me this update is a game changer.
The ability to store and un-store notes off of the air is a big deal.

I do have 3G access everywhere, but offline file access means, faster and less waiting time. When you need to look at your notes quickly, you do not want to go and search for them.

Now, if they can allow you to edit the notes in the next version...

EDIT: sorry i went off topic. Evernote seems to be working great for me

That feature is already here. I'm not sure what version it was added in, but I can edit notes. Select a note, and in the bottom right corner on the menu bar is the edit button (it looks like the same icon used in the Mail app to compose a message)

it does work quite well. glad I could help :)

It also works pretty well as a shopping list/todo list/____ list where you need to check things off.

In the Evernote program on the Mac (And I'm assuming PC too), when you create a note, you can add a check box in line with the text. To my amazement (I suppose I'm easily amused), the checkboxes synced over to the Evernote iPhone app, allowing me to check off items when I was shopping.

Anyway, I thought that was cool. Maybe it'll help someone else out too :)

Still no luck, I might as well give up with it as it's no use to me only over wi-fi.

I have deleted, re-installed (from both the iPhone store and through iTunes, restarted, restored and still no luck, I just keep getting this all the time......

Sometimes it will load half a note too for some reason.

Shame, as I really want to like this app but it just won't work for me :(

WoW... that's really great.
I might actually not use Zenbe anymore.

@TwiceNighty: You should try to contact them... I think it could be a carrier issue (some ports blocked perhaps?).

Quick question...have you upgraded the desk top version of the software???
You should be running version 3.0.0.848
Also check you online account settings and properties settings in your desktop, make sure everything looks right.
Their servers seem to be running a little slower then normal and you may be timing out.
Mine seems to run ok and updates just fine.
I would also go to the support site and if nothing else, send them an email...they seem to have pretty good customer service.

http://www.evernote.com/about/support/

I really love this app and use it save web pages, gaming charts, I have created a wish list of movies, cds, software to buy then check them off as I go and so much more. It has replaced my notepad I use to carry all the time because it is so quick and easy to use.

Hope you get it up and working.
Good Luck

Hey TwiceNightly,

I have the same problem. Connection to the servers is patchy at best and quite often I can see the note as a thumbnail and when I click the note to view in full-screen, it won't display.

Bit disappointed with the fact that you can only view 'Favourites' offline too. I would rather this be default for every note I create.

I'll post back here if/when they reply to me. Hopefully it's something as simple as them opening a port
