New external hard drive, do these items fit together?

I just bought a new iMac M1 but I am lacking space for my sample libraries.
My first thought was to buy the new Samsung Shield 4TB disk, but I want something that is faster and I have looked at these.

Would it be a better choice than Samsung's Shield 4TB? They cost almost the same.

It look like it will be faster (in theory)... IF the parts "work together" and USB4 enclosure "delivers".

Realize up front that you NEVER get the full "theoretical" speeds. Rather, something less. Sometimes "a little less"... sometimes "a LOT less".

If you do order this, how about a follow-up report on how well the enclosure works?

Thanks, I just found out it's limited to 2TB hard drives, so I'll be looking for another one, maybe an OWC Envoy express.

I have two OWC Envoy Express SSDs not hard drives as you wrote. They are NVMe 4TB and 8TB they work really well and are sure fast enough.
