How integrated do we all think third party storage services like Dropbox will be in the final version of the new Files app? Right now each Files-compatible service is listed but when you click it, it basically just pulls up a pared down window to the individual app—it’s not even full screen on an iPad. It’s essentially just the old email attachment interface from prior iOS iterations. I assume new stuff like drag-and-drop will be available, though obviously won’t be implemented until the public release. But do we know how integrated Files is ultimately going to be (depending, of course, on the services themselves).

Thanks! I’m optimistic that everything will come together in a cohesive, consistent one-stop shop. I did see that Dropbox has indicated it will support the new Files. I wonder if that support will include things like favorite folders, recent files, etc.

I am really hating DropBox and their lack of support of in-place open and save of docs. It's a strategy tax which is hostile to its customers.

I should not need to "export" a file and then have multiple copies of the file scattered across devices.

I hope you are correct and Dropbox is going to finally support its customers. I get they don't want to be dumb storage, but this is not the way to achieve a meaningful value proposition for its customers.

My iPhone's File app doesn't show "on My iPhone" option in File app. But my friend's iPhone showing it.

How to get back "On My iPhone" missing.

any one have the same problem like me?

Download an app that has API access to files app right now like pages from Apple. Then save any image file or PDF to that app folder through share sheet - save to files. Should autopopulate from there.

I have an inquiry regarding the iOS 11 Files app:
Is here still a 6 item restriction I. Uploading documents, pictures, videos to Box, Dropbox, or iCloud Drive? This is VERY annoying especially when I have to upload 6 only to find out I need to rename 1 or more of those files individually due to file name duplicates. If I can upload my entire camera roll to Mega or Box or Dropbox one time and get all file name issues to resolve at once or just twice then that would be awesome.

PS: is there a way for us to name or rename existing pictures in that ur camera or albums? It seems restoring pictures when you migrate and restore from an ICloud backup doesn't keep the picture "naming convention updated". iOS doesn't seem to care but file services and our Mac/Pc does.
