I have the Gold sport watch that just came out. I am looking to match it with a black band, however most of them seem to have silver loops, pins etc...

Any idea of other color combos that would go good with the gold face? How about black bands with gold hardware?

There are black bands with black pins. That's probably your best bet if you want the pins and hardware to be complementary, as there are no other separately available bands with gold hardwear. But that's a definite look, which you could achieve with the black link band as well.

I don't understand Apple's plan here ... Will they eventually offer a full compliment of bands with matching hardware for al their case finishes? Or is what they release with the case colors all there going to offer? Perhaps they're waiting to see which colors sell best, then offer band hardware options based on the best sellers. That undercuts point of sale impulse buys of multiple bands, but I don't really think Apple got into this for the watch band concession, however lucrative an aftermarket product they may be ...

Great answer. I'm really torn between loving the gold, but wanting to have naby band colors. The gold hinders the combinations due to it not really matching so well. I think I might take it back and pick up the SSB version, as black goes with everything.

I can always buy a gold watch cover if i wanted it to match my gold jewelry.

Bought the gold sports with the dark greyish band, and added the black band liked it more, yes it has a SS pin on the bottom but the rest is black

Didn't realize the Leather Loop is virtually metal accent free when worn - thinking that black leather loop will look kick butt with the gold sport - that'll be my first band purchase

A quick & easy fix for the SS pins or SS on leather loops is a permanent paint pen. I've used a gold leaf color paint pen for a brushed gold look. I use DecoColor in Goldleaf or PrismaColor in Metallic Gold (PM-120). For a polished gold look, I use PrismaColor in Goldenrod (PB-69) or Copic in Lionel Gold (Y28). They work to give the gold color you desire. You can find these in the art department at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. So far, I haven't noticed any fading, but I change my bands frequently. I guess if there is fading or chipping, you could always use the paint pen again. It isn't the perfect solution, but it is an inexpensive solution for so small an item that no one really sees.

This is a very interesting idea. I have a space gray sport, which came with a black sports band with a black pin. Most of my added sports bands (green, blue, red, turquoise) are fairly light/bright colors, and the plain "silver" steel pin distracts little, being on the other side of my wrist and sort of reflect the color around them (on most of them I think a black pin would stand out too much). But I got a midnight blue one last week (love it), and on that the silver pin stands out rather more. I'm tempted to find a similar navy blue permanent paint pen to use on its pin. Thanks for the idea and info.

Great pic and band combo - a friend of mine actually gave me his black leather loop! (got it with his Apple Watch initially, but now only wears the sport band due to comfort) - I do love the look of the black leather loop, but I may be an odd ball in thinking the sport band looks better in most situations - that navy blue just looks really sharp with the gold/black combo. Also wow nothing really does compare to the sport band for comfort - it is such an awesome band that I'm not sure how often I'd wear other bands even though that black link band looks awesome, but not sure I want a bunch of bands because of the quality of the sport band.

Am I the only one in the sport band camp?

Is this band in the pic oem or a knock off? If knock off which one is it? Looks great.
